write down the words P1.E

if you write them correctly it looks like 3.14 but backwards lol

but honestly the word pi is from the greek alphabet. the symbol from the greek alphabet is used in many word problems involving circles. they found this number called 3.1459.... with decimals that go on forever and they needed something to define it. they picked a greek letter from the greek alphabet and call it this.

this is common because in physics many greek letters are used to represent things.

greek letters like omega,epsilon,zetta,kappa,gamma,beta,alpha,rho.. and many more

Why mathematics call 3.14 pi?

Well, 3.14 isn't really accurate pi. pi is the value when circumference of the circle is divided by it's radius. It makes easier to estimate the length of circumference of the circle. Pi = 3.141592..............(infinite)

What irrational number can be added to pi to get a sum that is rational?

Minus pi. Or minus pi plus any rational number. Here is how you can figure this out (call your unknown number "x", and let "r" stand for any rational number):x + pi = r To solve for "x", simply subtract pi from both sides. That gives you: x = r - pi

What does 'pi' mean in math terms?

How do you use pi to find a circle's dimensions?

Pi is defined as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to the diameter of the circle. Therefore, if you measure the diameter of the circle (call it 'D') then the circumference of the circle is pi times D.To find the area of the circle use the formula Area = pi* D2 /4 .Going one step further, to a sphere, if you measure the radius of the sphere (call it R, where R is half the diameter D), then:1) The surface area of the sphere is Area = 4 * pi * R2 .2) The volume of the sphere is Volume = (4/3) * pi * R3 .
