Well, isn't that a happy little question! The square root of 9 is actually a rational number because it can be expressed as a simple fraction, which is 3. Rational numbers can be written as a ratio of two integers, bringing a sense of harmony and balance to our mathematical world.

The square root of 9 is a rational number. This is because the square root of 9 is equal to 3, which can be expressed as a fraction, 3/1. In general, a rational number is any number that can be expressed as a ratio of two integers, which is the case for the square root of 9.

What is called an irrational decimal?

An irrational number is a real number which can not be expressed in rational form, i.e. in form of a common fraction. If written in decimal form, an irrational number will contain an infinite number of decimal positions without any periodic repetition. Common examples of irrational numbers are Pi (3.14159...), e (2.71828...) and any non perfect root as for example, the square root of 2 (1.41421...), the square root of 7 (2.64575...), and so on. Any real number which does not fall into the the irrational number subset, must be a rational number. The rational number thus are real numbers which can be expressed in rational form, this means as the division of two integers (remembering that you can not divide into o). A rational number written in decimal form either will have a finite number of decimal positions or an infinite numbers with a periodic repetition. For example, 0.5 is a rational number because it can be written as (1/2). Another example is 1.5 which can be written as (3/2). Any integer is a rational number because it can be written as the integer divided by 1 or by any other integer, for instance, 8 = (8/1) = (16/2) = (32/4) and so on. Example of infinite periodic decimals are for instance (1/3) = 0.3333...., (4/9) = 0.4444..., (168/999) = 0.168168168...

What is the square root of X?

Restricting the discussion to real numbers for now. In this case, the square root is only defined for non-negative numbers; the principal square root of a positive number is the POSITIVE square root. For example, both +5 and -5 are square roots of 25, since both - when squared - give you 25. But the positive square root (+5) is called the principal square root, and if you write the square root symbol, that's the number usually meant.

Square root x plus 3 equals 12?

X = 81 sqrt(X) + 3 = 12 ( subtract 3 from each side ) sqrt(X) = 9 (square both sides ) X = 81 ( the square root of 81 is 9 )

How do you do square roots?

Lets take 9 for example. If you want to find the square root you just find what number times its self equals 9. So in this case it would be 3.

No. The square root of 81 is 9, which is a rational number.

Is the square root of -81 rational or irrational?

The square root of -81 is an imaginary number, specifically 9i, where i represents the imaginary unit equal to the square root of -1. Since the square root of -81 does not result in a real number, it is considered irrational. Rational numbers are those that can be expressed as a ratio of two integers, whereas irrational numbers cannot be expressed in this form.
