The volume of a cylinder is

(pi) x (radius of the circular end)2 x (length of the cylinder).

If the radius and length are measured in feet, then the volume is in cubic feet.

For (pi), you can use 3.14 or 22/7 .

Volume can be expresses as such.

volume = area x length

You need the area of one of the ends.

Area = pi/4 D² = 3.14/4 D²

D is the diameter or... Area = pi R² = 3.14 R²

R is the radius

Remember, all dimensions need to be in feet.

H= The height of the cylinder (in feet)

R= The radius of the cylinder (in feet)

Pi= 3.1415926535 (the ratio between the diameter and the circumference of a circle)

Volume of a cylinder in cubic feet is equal to Pi x R x R x H, this is commonly written like this:

V = Pi*R^2*H

Multiply Pi (3.1415) times the square of the radius times the length of the cylinder.
