Take a look at your (See first related link below for this) right now, just to reassure yourself. Confused by what you see? Well, this is a computer, and although it uses some traditional math symbols, it also throws in a couple special oddball symbols for mathematical operations:
+ is for addition.
- is for subtraction.
* is for multiplication.
/ is for division.
The only really strange symbol here is the asterisk, for multiplication. Don't use the little x! It's not the same thing. And don't waste your time hunting for the ÷ symbol. It's not there - it's / or nothing for division.

IF they are math related, write appropriate equations and then apply math rules to solve the equations.
They're the curved symbols found on the 8 & 9 keys on the keyboard. Their purpose is to isolate parts of equations, and signify their elevated importance. In mathematical equations, anything enclosed in brackets is solved first.
You can use a mark-up language specially designed for use with math formulas, e.g., TeX and its derivative LaTex.
Math equations have an equals sign such as: 7+5=12 or 9x6=47+7 Math expressions do not have a equals sign such as: 43-27 or 8x40

Equations are for math and to make you smarterThank you very much and have a nice day!:)
yes.
The difficulty level of math equations depends on the age and level of the person. Small children will find multiplication unbearably hard.
It is a number and you can use it in equations.
