The best thing you can do is create one in another application and then copy and paste it into your Word document. Word also gives you an option to create charts inside it by inserting them into it. However they are limited, so it is better to do it another application.

Word has very limited capabilities to creating charts. You can use the Insert feature and choose charts from it. It will present you with a very basic spreadsheet, into which you can enter numbers to use on your chart. You could also draw some charts manually using shapes, though they may not be very accurate. One of the best ways is to create the charts in Excel and then copy the chart into the Word document.
