Cisco Systems has a great network switch that can connect anywhere from 2-50 computers together at once.
maybe creating smaller lans/ broadcast domains by connecting routers could help
1. A router and modem that can take that many computers 2. A lot of switches (although I have heard of business models that serve about 50 computers at a time)
find a computer savvy kid between 10 and 15 years old. or, try a continuing edu class on computers at a local school

AVN Media Network's population is 50.
20-50 is the norm. 10 is about where it starts to get laggy. really good computers can run about 60-90. The best computers you can buy probably run about 100-120fps.
half or 50%, look in page 1093.

The best laptop under $1000 is the light Compaq CQ-50. I have one and bought it from Wal-Mart for about $300 total. It is decent and much better than other computers.
The easiest way is get a router and set up a network to share Internet connection:Ethernet home network setup tutorial: http://www.home-network-help.com/home-network.htmlWireless network setup tutorial: http://www.home-network-help.com/wireless-network.htmlYou will need one of two things, and yes, it will cost money. You could get a combination on a modem and a router that has more than one "out" port. These run from $80 to $100. However, the easier and cheaper method is to get just a router, usually around $50. Now, in routers you have two choises; either wired or wireless, you'd probably want to talk to someone at an electronics or computer store to find out what is best for you. One last thing, don't get a "switch" or a "hub" as those can only hook up two or more computers together and only the one connected to the modem will be able to access the internet, with a router you can share a connection with as many computers as there are "out" ports. Hope this helps.
