There are an infinite number of cylinders that hold one gallon. The volume of a cylinder is a function of its height as well as its diameter. If you double the height, you double its capacity. If you double the radius, you quadruple the capacity. So, you could have a very tall, thin cylinder or a short, wide one.
a standard one gallon paint can's dimensions (6 ½" diameter x 7 ¾" h )
How big a cylinder will one million gallons hold
the dimensions of the cylinder would be 2 times greater. We just had a test on this stuff and this was one of the questions.
One gallon.
A gallon holds about 3.8 times more liquid than one liter.
A standard milk jug has a capacity of one gallon. Also, a rectangular box with inside dimensions of 11 inches by 7 inches by 3 inches has a capacity of exactly one U.S. gallon.
A gallon holds more than one pint, because 1 gallon is equal to 8 pints.
Less Than 8 cups is a half-gallon; a gallon is 4 quarts or 16 cups.
This question cannot be answered sensibly. A gallon is a measure of volume, with dimensions [L3]. A kilogram is a measure of mass, with dimensions [M]. Basic dimensional analysis teaches that you cannot convert between measures with different dimensions such as these without additional information. It takes only a little mental effort to compare a gallon of air and a gallon of water to see that the two will have very different masses.
A gallon is a measure of volume. Volume can be measured by using one of the 2 most common methods: water displacement or a graduated cylinder.
Convert everything to the same unit, then compare. 1 gallon = 4 quarts.
There are 4 pints in a gallon. Each blender holds one gallon so the 7 blenders will hold 7 gallons.
