There are an infinite number of cylinders that hold one gallon. The volume of a cylinder is a function of its height as well as its diameter. If you double the height, you double its capacity. If you double the radius, you quadruple the capacity. So, you could have a very tall, thin cylinder or a short, wide one.

1 gallon equals how many kilograms?

This question cannot be answered sensibly. A gallon is a measure of volume, with dimensions [L3]. A kilogram is a measure of mass, with dimensions [M]. Basic dimensional analysis teaches that you cannot convert between measures with different dimensions such as these without additional information. It takes only a little mental effort to compare a gallon of air and a gallon of water to see that the two will have very different masses.

How many kilograms are there in 1 gallon?

The question, as stated, cannot be answered sensibly. A gallon is a measure of volume, with dimensions [L3]. A kilogram is a measure of mass, with dimensions [M]. The two measure different things and basic dimensional analysis teaches that you cannot convert between measures with different dimensions such as these without additional information. As a simple mental exercise consider a gallon of air and of water. They will have very different masses.
