There are hundreds of function built into an Excel spreadsheet. Its easier just click on the Formulas tab and scroll through the different categories. What makes using formulas a bit tricky for beginners is that you need to know the name of the function in order to search for it. For example, you need to know that the answer to a division problem is a quotient.
