Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer (ENIAC), the world's first general purpose computer. Designed by a professor at University of Pennsylvania
ENIAC ( Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer) was the first electronic general-purpose computer and designed to calculate artillery firing tables. It was capable of being reprogrammed to solve a full range of computing problems.
ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer)J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly designed and built the first operational electronic digital computer, ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer) at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. They developed it for the U.S. Army. Started in 1943, it took 200,000 man-hours and nearly a half million dollars to complete two years later. For more information see the Related link and also the answers to the Related Questions shown below.
ENIAC or Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer was a computer designed during WW2 to do numerical integration to assist in computing ballistic trajectory tables for new artillery pieces. It had 20 accumulators/integrators and was entirely programmed by plugin cables, effectively requiring completely rewiring it for each new problem.
ENIAC, an acronym for Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer, was the first reprogrammable general purpose digital electronic computer. The machine was designed and constructed to calculate artillery firing tables for the Ballistic Research Laboratory of the U.S. Army. A link to the Wikipedia article on the ENIAC is provided.
In a computer there are many A/D converters that put analog into digital. This signal is what is usually then led into an op amp which in the right configuration can be designed into an integrator or differentiator which is then used to solve differential equations.
The first programmable electronic digital computer was called the ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer). The contract to make it was signed on June 5, 1943, and the only one manufactured was on February 14, 1946. It was designed by John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert of the University of Pennsylvania. For the very earliest computer, see the related link to the Antikythera Mechanism.in 1942, the first electronic digital computer, the ABC was built by John V. Atanasoff and his graduate student Clifford Berry. it was built in Ames, Iowa.in 1943, the first programmable electronic digital computer, the Colossus was built by Tommy Flowers for Bletchley Park. up to VE day 11 of these computers were built.in 1946, ENIAC was finished, as told above.

A computer is defined as an electronic device that is designed to accept data.
The definition of an electronic computer is a machine for performing calculations automatically. They are sometimes called processor and are designed to perform operations and accept data.
Mauchley was not actually involved with IBM. John was actually a physicist who (with the aid of J.P. Eckert) designed some of the first digital computers. He actually was a physicist/professor @ Ursinus College where he worked on a designing a digital computation machine. While at the University of Pennsylvania (Moore School of Electrical Engineering) he met Eckert and they worked together to design ENIAC (the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) for the U.S. Army. They soon after designed the EDVAC (a version of the ENIAC with an internal digital memory system). John has received numerous awards for his achievements and help furthering the electronic/computing world. He died in January 08, 1980.
