A gallon is bigger. If you are really having trouble with this math problem continuously. You should try measuring a full jug of milk and a liter of soda on a kitchen scale. To see which one is bigger.

'Fraid that won't help! You are confusing density with volume but I can't quite make out how!

The gallon is larger than the litre (in its proper, French, spelling) - an Imperial gallon is 5.45l; I think the US Gallon is between 3 & 4 litres. Besides, if you want to compare liquid volumes by weight you'd need to use the same liquid in both containers.
