Hmmm.... I was thinking about that also. If this is for Oyster Stew, here's what I would do.
Blue Point Oysters are the best for Stew. So, I would get 2 dozen for 3 people. If you are an oyster freak like my kids and I are, then you get 8 Oysters per person (which means enough for two servings a piece). Hope this helps... So, I would say, 6 to 8 a person if you really like Oysters.
No, the value will always be higher in fresh than in smoked.
Oysters can be eaten raw as long as they are fresh. To cook them, you can boil them, bake them, or barbecue them! mmmmm... good stuff!
only a couple of hours
I enjoyed a delicious plate of fresh oysters at the seafood restaurant last night.

Well, honey, 3 quarts is equal to 96 ounces. So if you want to know how many ounces of fresh spinach equal 3 quarts, the answer is 96 ounces. Just grab that spinach and start measuring, you've got a lot of salad to make!
2.2 pounds only if it is one liter of fresh water (mass = 1kg). Liters are units of volume. Pounds are units of mass. You can't convert directly.
About 5 - 7 days. When you store fresh oysters in the shell in the refrigerator, leave the grit and dirt on them. This helps insulate and keep the oysters moist. Make sure they have air, do not put them in a sealed plastic bag because they need to breathe. Put them in a burlap bag or cover them with a damp towel. When ready to shuck, run under cold water, and scrub with a stiff brush.
They will last up to 3 months in salt water but they need to remain chilled so i would also keep them in the refrigerator.
Sure! "I enjoyed a plate of fresh oysters at the seafood restaurant."
