In a pound of what?
Fluid ounces is a measure of volume. Pound is a measure of weight. The number of fluid ounces in a pound is going to depend on the density of the substance in question.
A pound of Mercury is much smaller in volume (and thus has fewer fluid ounces) than a pound of water.
If we are speaking of water, or something equivalent, 1 ounce of water by weight fills up one fluid ounce of space, so a pound of water (16 oz) is 16 fluid ounces, or 1 pint.
1 pound of water is approximately 16 fluid ounces. Therefore, 2 pounds of water weighs about 32 fluid ounces.
Your're trying to mix your units here and it won't work. A FLUID ounce is a measurment of the volume of a liquid. A pound is a measurment of weight. Different fluids weigh different an ounce of molten lead for instance will weigh much more than an ounce of water so there will be less ounces of lead in a pound than water right?
about 17.438688 fluid ounces
~1/2 pound First, note that 1 gram was originally defined to be the weight of one milliliter of ice water, so it is a good approximation of water weight (and mass). Second we need milliliters of water in a cup: There are 8 fluid ounces in a cup (that's *fluid* ounces, a measure of volume, not ounces, a measure of weight) 1 US fluid ounces = 29.5735296 milliliters x 8 fl. oz / cup= 236.588237 milliliters in a cup By the above approximation, 1 cup, therefore, weighs 236.6 grams 236.6 grams = 0.521613712 pounds which equals approximately 1/2 pound.
11 fluid ounces = 1 cup and 3 fluid ounces
In general a fluid ounce of water will be an ounce of weight. A pint of water is 16 ounces which would be one pound.
a fluid ounce is measure of volume while a pound is a measure of weight, so you need to know the density of the fluid before you can determine this. If the fluid is water, its density is 0.036 pounds per cubic inch and 1fluid ounces is 1.0805 cubic inches. 32 fluid ounces is 1.805 x 32 = 57.75 cubic inches . At 0.036 pounds per cubic inch, it weighs.036x 57.75 = 2.08 pounds. If this were oil and not water, weight would be different. Don't confuse fluid ounce with ounce weight
94 USA fluid ounces is 2780 L.
That is 0.25 cups
There are approximately 33.8 fluid ounces of water in 1 liter.
1 fluid ounce of soda weighs 0.062 5 pound. 12 fluid ounces of soda weighs 0.75 pound. If it's in a can it will weigh more.
No. One pound equals to 16 ounces and one ounce equals 0.06 of a pound. Also this relates only to solid (weight) ounces. There are two different kinds of ounces, ounces of weight/mass and ounces of volume (fluid). This can change when you are using the ounces to measure a non-liquid such as flour or sugar since the weight of dry items is not the same as their volume. An ounce of volume is called a "fluid ounce."
