Why do some people repeat 'Hi hi hi' three or more times when they see you?
Repeating "hi" as a greeting three or more times in a row is
more of an excited, familiar greeting among close friends. Some
people do two, "Hi-hi", while other people say it three times. It
could be a way of being unique or expressing more fondness for a
person. However, most people just say "Hi" or "Hello", especially
in work or school situations or to strangers.
