You take the smallest number in of data and subtract it from the biggest number.

For example in 34, 41, 37, 29, and 34 the biggest number is 41 and the smallest number is 29, so you do 41-29 which is 12.

Your range is 12.

When given a set of data values, the range is found by subtracting the lowest value from the highest value of this set. The data values given in set should be arranged in order from the lowest to the highest value before finding the range.

The range is the difference between the highest number and the lowest number. To find the range you subtract the smallest number from the largest number.
