The circumference of a regular cylinder is the circumference of its circular face. C = pi * D (diameter of the cylinder) C = pi * 2r (or C = 2(pi)r)
A silo consists of a cylinder and a hemisphere. So, the volume of the silo is the volume of a cylinder plus the volume of the hemisphere.Volume of a sphere: 4/3πr3 ---> Hemisphere: 2/3πr3Volume of a cylinder: πr2hSo, combining the two equations, the full equation to finding the volume of a silo:V = 2/3πr3 + πr2h
In music, pan knobs are used for mono input lines to control how they are mapped to stereo output lines. On the other hand, for stereo input lines, the knob is labelled "balance". So you should get a PAN control for mono lines and a BALANCE control for stereo lines (and none for lines with more than 2 channels). In the Sun J2SDK, PAN controls behave like BALANCE controls for stereo lines and BALANCE like PAN for mono lines. However, this is only a convenience for compatibility. To write portable programs, you should not rely on this behaviour. (Matthias) others, please refer to http://www.longhowl.com/howls/185
The volume of a cylinder is calculated using the formula V = πr^2h, where r is the radius and h is the height. Given the diameter is 10 units, the radius is half that, so r = 5 units. Substituting these values into the formula, V = π(5)^2(20) = 500π cubic units.
