At least two different methods. One is to run power from panel to one light, then to the next, then next, then next. Run separate cable from each light to the switch location where you want the control.

Other way is to run power from panel (hot, neutral and ground) to first switch box, then an identical cable to the light #1, contine always hot wire from switch box 1 to switch box 2, then identical cable to light 2, repeat 2 moe times.

If you are talking about 4 switches in one box, use pigtails from incoming (from panel) hot to each switch--then apply that concept to the options listed above for switches in different locations. Watch and anticipate/plan how many conductors will be in each box and check code for maximum wires in various size boxes.

A three-wire installation provides a power source for?

Answer for USA, Canada and countries running a 60 Hz supply service.A three wire installation provides a power source for independent 120 volt circuits and 240 volt circuit with neutral.A common 120/240 volt 200 amp distribution service panel can have 42 circuits supplied from it. These circuits can be in any number of different combinations of 120 volts or 240 volts.

What is the use of wire terminal?

A wire terminal is used in electrical wiring. It is used to hold the wires when wiring switches and receptacles. There are different types of terminals including screw terminals.

Examples of a circuit?

a circuit is a round wire that connects through a battery into a lightbulb

What are the basic parts of a simple electric circuits?

The three essential parts of any electrical circuit are: a power source (like a battery or generator), a load(like a light bulb or motor) and connectors (wires) to join them together.A fourth part, that is always a very important thing to have in most circuits, is a control device such as a switch, circuit breaker or fuse.

How do you control 2 lamps with two way switch?

A 3way switch at each location is what you use, but it must be wired properly to work. You must have incoming power at one switch location and no power at the other location. The other location has the wire going up to the light. You then need a 3 conducted wire such as 12/3 or 14/3 running between the switches. Use the same size wire you used to power the switch and top up to the light. You then connect the black power wire at one location to the black screw on the switch, and at the other location you connect the black wire going to the light to the black screw on that switch. At each location tie the whites together under a wire nut and shove that back in the box. Tie the grounds together and connect that to the ground screw at each switch. At each location you will now have the black and red wire from the wire you ran between the switches left. Those are called travelers. Connect those wires to the remaining 2 screws left on the switches at each location. Does not mater which you connect to which screw. Assuming no other wires are involved this is how you wire it.

How do you run three switches and a hot outlet from one incoming power source?

You need to run a wire from the existing power source to switch to switch to switch to outlet.

How do you wire one light and one GFCI and another light light and fan with two switches and one power line?

You can wire the first light and GFCI in series on one switch. For the second light and fan with two switches, use a 3-wire cable for the hot, neutral, and traveler wires between the switches. Connect the hot wire to the power source, and then branch out to each switch. Connect the light and fan to the switches separately using the switched leg of the power from each switch.

How do you use a 14-3 wire for Switch and Power?

A 14-3 wire can be used to connect a switch and power source by assigning the red wire as a traveller wire between two switches, the black wire as the hot wire, the white wire as the neutral wire, and the ground wire as the grounding wire. This configuration allows for a two-way switch setup.

How do you wire timer to 3 parallel switches?

To wire a timer to 3 parallel switches, connect the hot wire from the power source to the common terminal of each switch. Then connect the traveler wires from each switch to the timer input terminal. Finally, connect the load wire from the timer output terminal to the fixture being controlled. Make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific timer model.

How do I wire a new 3-way switch. I can't follow what my book says.?

you need the following wire should be 14-3 wire and two three way switches 14 -3 wire has 4wire in the bundle 1white 1black 1 copper and 1 of a different color this wire runs from switch to fixture to switch from power source tie copper wires together from source ( this is a ground )tie to fixture ground tie black wire together from source this should be the hot leg tie white wire together from source ( this is a Neutral) fourth wire runs from switch to switch wire nut together at fixture follow switch instructions all else fails call electrician

Wire a three-way switch One light controlled by two switches- similar to a hall ligt. SPDT switches?

To wire a three-way switch with SPDT switches for one light controlled by two switches, you will need to connect the common terminal of one switch to the hot wire coming from the power source, connect the common terminal of the other switch to the light fixture, and connect the two remaining terminals of the switches together with one wire. This configuration allows either switch to control the light. Be sure to follow proper wiring techniques and safety precautions.

What do you need to make and electromagnet?

To make an electromagnet, you will need a core material (such as iron or steel), insulated copper wire, a power source (such as a battery or power supply), and a way to connect the wire to the power source (such as a switch). Simply wrap the wire around the core material, connect the ends of the wire to the power source, and when current flows through the wire, it will create a magnetic field in the core, turning it into an electromagnet.

How is parallel circuit different form a series circuit?

In a parallel circuit there are multiple wires coming from a power source to power diffret devises and they don't go in a chain. In a series circuit one wire comes from a power source and strings together multiple devise in a single wire. With the chain the power level for the wire goss down with each added load unlike in a parrell circuit.

What is the ACC wire coming out of a car stereo?

power for amp IT GIVE YOU A POWER SOURCE WICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE HOOKED UP TO THE ACC (ACCESSORY) WIRE FROM YOUR CAR WHICH WILL GO ON AND OFF WITH THE IGNITION. THIS IS NOT A CONSTANT POWER SOURCE, DO NOT HOOK YOUR STATION MEMORY OR CLOCK TO THIS POWER SOURCE
