Malted Milk Balls are a lightweight, crunchy chocolate treat with a sweet history. They were created in 1873 when a pharmacist named James Horlick was trying to develop a nutritional supplement for infants. Fortunately for candy lovers, his experiment went beyond his original vision and caught on with the general population.
They do still make Brach's Malted Milk Balls. They are one of my favorite sweet treats.

In the milk chocolate balls there is like a melted milk chocolate.In the dark chocolate I THINK there is melted dark chocolate, same with the white having white chocolate in it.In the hazelnut there is a hazelnut.Please Note the I THINKS, i am pretty sure about the milk and white chocolate ones.

MALTED MILK BALLS (FOR MALTED MILK)1 cup of white chocolate coating1 cup of malted milk powderDipping chocolate or colored chocolate coatingMelt white chocolate in a double boiler or low in the microwave. Stir in malted milk powder and mix well. Form into balls. Dip in chocolate.MALTED MILK RECIPEIngredients: * 1 cup milk * 1 cup malted milk balls * 1 or 2 scoops vanilla ice cream * 1 squirt chocolate syrupInstructions:* In blender combine milk, ice cream, chocolate syrup, and half of the malted milk ball. * Whirl in blender until combinded, eat the rest of the malted milk balls while you wait. * Pour into a tall glass and enjoy!Variations:You could replace the vanilla flavoured Ice-cream for any other flavour. You could also use whipped cream, chocolate shavings , cookie crumbs or cherries replacing the chocolate syrup. Play with the combinations of different flavours and textures!
