How can you get 100 ways to write 100?

1+99, 2+98, 3+97, 4+96, etc, etc, until you get to 50+50. Now you have 50 ways. Then, you can do

101-1, 102-2, 103-3, 104-4, 105-5, etc etc, until you get to 150-50. Now you 100 ways.

Or you can also just do 200-100, 199-99, 198-98, 197-97, all the way until you get to 100-0.

• here's the easiest way that requires minimal thinking. It's a basic pattern:

  100/1, 1000/10, 10000/100, 100000/1000...

  so basically you add another zero to both sides... though I wouldn't recommend actually writing this out

  10^2, (10^3)(10^-1), (10^4)(10^-2)... up to (10^100)(10^-98)
