The Tudor monarchs, who reigned throughout the sixteenth century, with their birth and death years:
Henry VII (1457 - 1509)
Henry VIII (1491 - 1547)
Edward VI (1537 - 1553)
Lady Jane Grey, the "nine days queen" - (1537 - 1554)
Mary I (1516 - 1558)
Elizabeth I (1533 - 1603)
British monarchs on the throne during that time were: George III (reigned 1760 - 1820) George IV (reigned 1820 - 1830) - Prince Regent from 1810 William IV (reigned 1830 - 1837) Queen Victoria (reigned 1837 - 1901)
The three monarchs were commonly known as "Enlightened Despots." This was because they reigned during the Age of the Enlightenment when even such monarchs were beginning to appreciate the concepts of reason, natural law and other ideas being developed at the time by various philosophers.
Pepi II Neferkare reigned over ancient Egypt for 94 years. ( disputed) Taejo of Korea reigned for 93 years, from 53 to 146 A.D. ( disputed) Sobhuza II of Swaziland reigned for almost 83 years from 1899 to 1982, probably witnessing more changes in our world in his reign than any other. The longest reigning British Monarch was Queen Victoria , who reigned frrom 1837 to 1901 , a total of 63 years and 139 days. Should Queen Eliizabeth II live till 2016 she will then be Britains longest reigning monarch ever.
This is most easily explained with pictures, either the ones at the attached link or those from a book of costume in the sixteenth century.

she reigned from 1558 (age 25) to 1603 (age 70) so i guess that means she reigned about the sixteenth century mainly
