Calculate area of topo sheet in 1:50 000 scale,
Having following information as below-
No. of grids in Topo sheet -9
Area of one grid -18.50 x 17.10 cm
Solution: Given scale is 1:50000
OR
1cm: 50 000 cm
OR
1cm: 500 m
OR
1cm: 0.5km
2cm -1km
So that,
18.5 cm =9.25 km
17.10 cm=8.55 km
Area of the Grid- 9.25x8.55=79.087 = 79 sq.km.
Area of the one topo sheet 79 x 9=711 sq.km

The surface area of a prism is calculated by adding the area of the walls to the area of the top and bottom. The area of the walls is calculated by multiplying the perimeter of the top by the height of the wall.
b*h for triangle
That depends on the area to be calculated and some examples are:- Area of a circle = pi*radius2 Area of a triangle = 0.5*base*height Area of a rectangle = base*height
The area of a triangle can be calculated with one main formula. That is, A=(b*h)/2, where A is the area of the triangle, b is the base of the triangle, and h is the height of the triangle.
The area of a circle with a known radius can calculated using the following formula where r is the radius : A = Pi(r)2
