The hexagon can be split into 8 equal trapezoids by creating a smaller hexagon (exactly one half the size) within the hexagon. Draw lines through the center of the hexagon from opposing vertices, and connect the midway points. The space between the two hexagons is filled by six equal trapezoids, and the smaller hexagon bisects to form two more.

How can you divide a hexagon into 8?

Select any point inside the hexagon and draw a line segment to any point on the boundary of the hexagon. Draw 7 more such segments. These will divide the hexagon into 8 parts. The parts will not be equal but that was not a requirement of the question.

Abby split a circle into 6 equal parts and shaded 5 parts.lolo split a congruent circle into 9 equal parts and shaded 8 parts.do the two circles show equivalent?

No.Restate the question: Abby split a circle into 6 equal parts and shaded 5 parts. Lolo split a congruent circle into 9 equal parts and shaded 8 parts. Do the two circles show equivalent fractions? The two fractions are 5/6 and 8/9. Since they are both in lowest terms, they are different quantities and cannot be equivalent.A general method for determining equivalent fractions or to compare them is to convert each fraction to a decimal:5/6 = 0.833333 ...8/9 = 0.888888 ...Equivalent fractions are different representations of the same quantity; in this case the two fractions represent different quantities.======Read more: Abby_split_a_circle_into_6_equal_parts_and_shaded_5_parts.lolo_split_a_congruent_circle_into_9_equal_parts_and_shaded_8_parts.do_the_two_circles_show_equivalent
