You simply have to measure all the sides of the oblong and add them together.

If the opposite sides of it are equal (making it a rectangle), then you just need to measure the two different sides and add them together, then multiplying the result by 2.

perimeter = a + b + c +d

or

perimeter = 2(a+b)
