Another dimension is needed to work out the surface area of the roof.
In order to calculate the volume we must work out the radius. Lateral surface area without the 2 end pieces of the cylinder = 200 sq.ft, 2*pi*r*8 = 200 Divide both sides by 2*pi*8 to find the length of the radius. radius = 3.978873577 Volume in cubic units = pi*radius2*height or altitude; Volume = 397.8873577 cubic feet or 398 to the nearest cubic foot.
take 1 face and times the base by height and the times it by the number of faces b * h = area of 1 face area of 1 face * number of faces = surface area note all faces must be the same! Hope i HELPED :D
Tricky. You need to flatten out the surface to work it out. Depends on the shape - if it's like a hemisphere then you can use the properties of a sphere - volume = 4/3 Pi R3 and surface area = 4 Pi R2 so if your dome is like half a sphere then its surface area = 2 Pi R2 and you can measure the radius R so can work it out!
the surface area of the trapezoid =(h/2)*(b1+b2) the unit is cm2 * * * * * Not particularly helpful when h, b1 and b2 are undefined. And not even true if these lengths are measured in inches!
Two hemispherical ends = 4*pi*radius2 Lateral surface area of the cylinder = 2*pi*r*lenght of cylinder Work both out separately and the sum of them will give you the total surface area in square units.
I presume you mean total surface area of the cylinder:Area = 2πr(r + h)= 2π8(8 + 8)= 256π cm2~= 804.25 cm2The cylinder consists of 2 circular disks at each end and the curved surface. The area of each of the disks is πr2.To work out the area of the curved surface, imagine cutting the cylinder from end to end and flattening out the edge; then it will be a rectangle with length the height of the cylinder and width the perimeter of the circular end. Thus its area is 2πrhThus the total surface area of the cylinder is:area = πr2 + πr2 + 2πrh= 2πr2 + 2πrh= 2πr(r + h)
1 Height of cylinder: 346/pi*3.62 = 8.498088011 cm 2 Total surface area: (2*pi*3.62)+(7.2*pi*8.498088011) = 273.65230311 3 Correct to 3 decimal places: 273.652 square cm
Surface area = (2*pi*32) + (pi*6*9)) = 72*pi which is about 226 square cm

Form a net of the Toblerone and work out the area of each individual part of it and then add up the parts together to find its entire surface area
A cylinder has two circular ends, then the long side surface, which is actually a rectangle if you flatten it out. You need the radius of the circular end (distance from the middle to the edge), and the height of the cylinder to work out the surface area. Doing the circular ends first, the surface area is given by the formula PI x radius squared. PI is 3.1415 for normal use. There are two ends, so count the answer twice. The side surface is a rectangle with one side of the height of the cylinder, and the other side the circumference of the circular end. The circular end length is 2 x PI x radius of the circular end. Now multiple that answer by the height of the cylinder. Finally add together the area of the two ends (don't forget to count both), and the area of the rectangle making up the long side, nd that's your answer.
Work out each area of the 5 faces individually and then add them together.
It would help if the question was less obscure. What do you mean by "work"? How the surface area affects chemical processes (for example the surface area of catalysts), or diffusion, or surface areas and friction?
surface area prism = 2 × area end + total area side = 2 × area end + perimeter end × length of prism The information given to you will allow you to work out the area of one pentagonal end, and the perimeter of the pentagonal end.
To work out the area of the rectangular faces, you need to multiply the length by the width. You then need to multiply that answer by 3 (because there are 3 rectangular faces). To work out the area of the triangular faces, multiply the base of the triangle by the height and divide the answer by 2 (to find the area of one triangle). You then need to multiply it by 2 again because there are 2 triangular faces.Important: The height of a triangle is the distance from the top corner of the triangle down to the base (so that it meets the base at 90 degrees)You then need to add the total surface area of the rectangular faces to the surface area of the triangular faces to get the total surface area of the entire prism.(sorry for the essay :])
A quadrilateral does not have a surface area because it is not a voluminous figure.
