A prism is a generic term used to describe a polyhedron with a pair of parallel and congruent polygonal base and a number of rectangular faces linking the two bases. A prism whose base is a polygon with n-sides (or vertices) has n+2 faces, 2n vertices and 3n edges, where n ≥ 3.
