Figuring how many tiles in an area
Pretty straight forward math homework...
Grab your cell phone calculator & here we go
area is figures as Length X Width (LXW)
10 X 14=????
each tile is 2 sq feet
so divide your total sq feet (area) by 2! (sq FT) should come up with an answer more than 65 less than 80
To make a rectangle 2 tiles wide, you will need at least 2 tiles. However, to form a complete rectangle, you will also need additional tiles for the length of the rectangle. The number of tiles required will depend on the desired length of the rectangle. For example, if you want a rectangle that is 2 tiles wide and 4 tiles long, you will need a total of 8 tiles.
Floor area = 12 ft x 18 ft = 216 square feet. There are 4 six-inch square tiles needed for each square foot, so 864 tiles are needed.
A 12 x 12 tile covers one square foot. So you need 432 of them, plus some for spoilage.
240 square tiles are needed
6' x 9' (54 square feet) = 6 square yards of tiles needed.
the answer is 40 square yards
Tiles are the "square things". Altogether, the tiles make up the floor.
256 tiles

The answer will depend on the size of the tiles.
Square floor tiles.
What kind of tiles? For the floor or walls also? Simplest example. 12x12 floor tiles. 10x12 room. One length times one width. 10x12=120 12x20 room, 240 tiles. 6x6 tiles there are 4 tiles in each square foot of floor space 10x12x4=480 Whatever you are doing, one length times one width gives you the square footage. Then figure how much each tile covers and multiply.
Only 1 rectangle can be built with a Prime number of square tiles.
120 tiles because the area of the floor is 30 square feet. If you can fit four tiles into one square foot then you could fit 120 tiles in 60 square feet.
A 3 x 5 rectangle.
9 square foot tiles make one square yard
