mark a line parelell to the wall at say 100mm offset
mark the partition position on this line with a sharp pencil
measure and mark a distance of 4 metres back from the first mark
mark an arc of 3 metres from the intersection of the first mark
mark an arc of 5 metres from the intersection of the second mark
where the arcs coincide is squre with the wall .
Note .
offseting the first line mmerely facilitates putting your tape measure acurately on the mark (forget this step if perfect accuracy is not required).
Note.
3,4, & 5 meters can be substituted with any other unit you care to use . eg 18, 24, & 30 ft gives a triangle of the same proportions. The larger the triangle you use the greater the accuracy.

When two unique lines intersect, two pairs of equal angles will be formed. All four angles could be 90 degrees (right angles) if the lines are perpendicular. If the lines are oblique, the pairs of angles can vary (almost) infinitely within a given range (1 degree-179 degrees).The intersection of two lines results in two pairs of equal angles such that the sum of angles equals 360. Another way to state this is that two adjacent angles will always sum to 180 degrees. That said, the best we can do is to express one angle in terms of the other. Call a pair of adjacent angles a and b. In the case of two adjacent angles, a = 180 - b, or b = 180 - a.
Square = 360 Pentagon = 540 Octagon = 1080
Presumably it states that for any triangle its 3 interior angles add up to 180 degrees.
Measure it with a protractor. (If you needed a more mathematical answer with trigonomic functions, you need to state what data you know - i.e length of 2 sides, or length of one side and an angle, what the shape is etc... There is no general method to "how to work out the size of an angle" that works for all shapes.)
A polygon. ---- nope sorry.. i could have two lines they are non-collinear .. and they meet - ie. they intersect.. and well, they will have = made an angle - by definition of what it means .. when two non-collinear lines meet.. polygon has to be closed.. there is nothing in the statement of the problem that one can use to state even is there are more than 2 sides.. let alone if its a closed set..
