Pi is the circumference of (distance around) a circle divided by its diameter (largest distance across). The radius is one-half of the diameter. 2 pi radius means two times pi times the radius or 2 x pi x radius.

You can multiply in any order so this is the same as 2 x radius x pi.

2 x radius = diameter

diameter x pi = circumference (distance around)

2 pi radius is the circumference of a circle
