there cannot be a one sided polygon as a polygon is defined as a 2-dimentional shape, which has area, and is enclosed by straight sides. Thus a polygon must have at least 3 sides so that it can enclose an area. Perhaps the question is supposed to be more along the lines of what 2-dimentional shape has only one side? this would be a circle

A 1 sided polygon exists as in my thought is a closed oval with a smooth surface all the way around between its width sort of like your closed eye shut and there exists so does maybe a 0 and non sided polygon, A 2 sided polygon is called a diagon. ref. Wikipedia.
