The circumference is the distance around the circle, its "perimeter."

The circumference of a circle is equal to π times the diameter of the circle (C = πd), or π times twice the radius of the circle (C = 2πr).
The circumference is the distance around it
If you know the diameter (width) of the circle, you can use the formula

Circumference= Diameter x pi (approx 3.1416)

Example : if a circle has a diameter of 5 cm then the circumference is 5 x π =5π (about 15.7 cm)

The actual formula relates to the radius of the circle, which is half the diameter.

Radius Formula : C = 2πr (2 pi times the radius)

As long you remember the formula you should be fine....

Circumference = 2 * pi * r

Or pi * d

where r = radius & d = diameter of the circle.

Also pi (=3.143) can be roughly put down as 22/7 if you more comfy with fractions than the decimals.

the equation is 2*pi*r

r being the radius
