a straight cab is rectangular, so the speakers point parallel to the ground. angled cabs have a slanted front so that speakers tilt up slightly. this makes the cab seem louder because the speakers are pointed more towards your ears. also, angled cabs help you hear the same tone that your audience does. speakers sound different at different angles, so if a speaker is angled exactly between your audience's ears and your ears, you'll get the same tone.
