If n=1, then the sum of the angles is 180(1-2) which is -180.

Since no angle can have a negative measure, the figure cannot exist.

A similar proof uses the formula for calculating the number of diagonals in the polygon, and this formula also shows that a 2-sided polygon cannot exist.
