A polyhedron (solid shape formed by plane faces) with four faces is called a tetrahedron.
By its very nature of being a triangle, and a 2D shape, a triangle cannot have four plane faces. However, a tetrahedron is a polyhedron made up of four triangular faces.
Prism
A Dodecahedron has twelve pentagonal faces. A Dodecagon is a plane figure with twelve sides.
The solid commonly called a dodecahedron is not a solid pyramid but the name simply means a solid shape with 12 faces and so, a pyramid on a 11-sided polygonal base will be a dodecahedron.
Tetrahedron
A polyhedron (solid shape formed by plane faces) with four faces is called a tetrahedron.
You name it !No solid lies in a plane.
a polyhedron * * * * * That is only if it is bounded by plane faces. A sphere, for example, is a three dimensional shape but is not a polyhedron: it is a solid shape.
Icosahedron
A cube has six square faces.
A vertex is the name of a corner on a solid where three or more faces meet (plural = vertices).
An irregular polyhedron if it has plane faces. If not, then there usually will not be a name for it.
If the faces are flat, it's a line.
an edge
The solid with 12 equal faces is a dodecahedron. A dodecahedron has 12 equal pentagon surfaces.
a triangular prism.
