There is a theorem which proves that the interior angles of a triangle add to 180o. It is too difficult to show the proof here, but you can easily make a demonstration: cut a triangle out of paper; make a pencil mark in each corner of the triangle. Cut or tear off each corner, and fit thethreemarked angles together. They should make a straight edge, which is a 180o angle.

Draw a line joining two opposite corners of a rectangle; you have divided it into two triangles. Each of these triangles has angles that add to 180o; together, the six angles of the twotrianglesform the angles of therectangle and must add to 2x180o = 360o.
