How many square inches are needed to make a 6 x 8 rectangle

the answer is 6 by 8=28

********************************

6 inches x 8 inches = 48 square inches

If a square has an area 100 square inches what is the perimeter

The perimeter is 40 inches.

Solve y equals x2-4x plus 3 and y equals x-1 algebraically

y = x2 - 4x + 3
y = x -1

Substitute the 2nd equation into the first

x -1 = x2 -4x + 3

Rearranging:

x2 -4x -x +3 +1 = 0
x2 - 5x +4 = 0

Solving this quadratic equation in x by factorising gives 2 values for x
x1 = 4
x2 = 1

Substituting these into the original equation for y (y=x-1) gives
y1 = 3
y2 = 0

So the 2 solutions to the equations are:
x1=4
y1=3

and

x2 = 1
y2 = 0

Why are the results for theoretical and experimental probability different

The theoretical model does not accurately reflect the experiment.

If you spin the spinner once what is the probability that it will stop on A

What are the solutions for y equals x squared and y equals x plus 6

if:

y = x2

y = x + 6

then

x2 = x + 6

=> x2 - x - 6 =0

=> (x - 3)(x + 2) = 0

=> x = 3 or -2

=> y = 9 or 4 respectively, ie the points (3, 9) and (-2, 4).

What is the x and y equal if x - 3y equals 3

There are an infinite number of them.

Here are a few:

x= -2, y= -5/3

x= -1, y= -4/3

x= 0, y= -1

x= 1, y= -2/3

x= 2, y= -1/3

x= 3, y= 0

x= 12, y= 3
