How to calculate a weighted average when values have different weights?

I’m trying to understand how to correctly calculate a weighted average when each value has a different weight. For example, some values contribute more to the final result than others, so a simple average doesn’t seem accurate. I understand the basic formula, but when there are many values involved, it becomes confusing and easy to make mistakes. I found a GWA calculator that explains and applies weighted average calculations clearly, which helped me understand the process much better. Has anyone else used a similar approach, or can explain a simple method to avoid errors when calculating weighted averages? gwacalcom
