The Constitution of any constitutional democracy provides the governing law for that entire country. It usually places limitations on government, states the responsibility of government, and usually has rough guidelines for how the government will function. Frequently, it will include what rights individuals or groups have within society.

Since the constitution of a country provides the foundations of law within a country, a teenager's life is influenced in minor ways throughout their daily routine. Within the most democratic nations, they enjoy the right to free speech, to express opinion. They are free to say that they do or do not like what is happening in their country, that they like or do not like their friends, or parents, or popular bands. These civil rights are typically guaranteed by constitutional democracies.
