In Spanish it is "Quirófano" but I do not know in English, this is precisely what I would like to know. In English it is an operating room ("OR" for short) or an operatory.
A hospital theatre is nothing like the movies theatre. It is an area where doctors, nurses and other health related staff (opposite to administration staff) go to watch a surgery while it is perform. Later on they exchange comments among themselves or with the staff present at the surgery. This is considered part of their lifelong training.
