= This is the number 30 in Mayan numbers! In case you don't understand the picture, or you think it is dis proportioned, I'll depict what it means in words. (This is not the correct mathematical term, so don't use it in a test, unless it calls for you to describe it like this!) How to write the number: First of all, make a dot (representing 20) at the top. Then, underneath it, make a space (or an invisible line; don't draw the line!). Underneath the space, write two lines (for the 10), and you have your number, 30.

Clarification on Mayan numbers

Think about it this way. We have a base 10 system, but the Mayan number system uses a base 20 system, so the 20 is what they use as a base, which means all numbers in their system depend on 20. In the number 30, there is only one 20, so you make one dot and two lines, which equals 10. If there are two 20s, for example in 40, you make two dots, and so on.
