Depending upon the school and the district, there are always opportunities for advancement for teachers. A classroom teacher can gain a position requiring more supervisory work and less contact time, a more administrative position, or simply take on more responsibilities for more pay. An example of the latter would be a teacher being promoted to the position of year level coordinator or subject coordinator.
