Hope is the word used when you have an expectation or desire. I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow. I hope I get a car for my birthday. I hope I meet a mllionaire. Do not confuse with 'wish' as this can also mean something you desire. I wish I had a dog. I wish you a Happy Birthday. I wish you wouldn't speak to me like that!

The word 'wish' is both a noun and a verb; a word for a desire or to desire something. Fore example:

Noun: My wish for a free weekend finally came true.

Verb: If you just wish for success, you will not succeed.
