It would be unwise to put essential oil droops up your nose, as essential oils are usually 90% petroleum and it could do damage to your brain in even small amounts. It is not worth it.
Hi I am puzzled by the statement that essential oils are 90% petroleum. Essential oils should only be purchased that are 100% pure unless diluted in a carrier oil where the dilution should be clearly stated. White Camphor oil should be used with great caution due to it's high ketone content. Ketones are chemical compounds which are neuro - toxic. This means that they can have detrimental effects on the nervous system like epileptic fits. Camphor is best avoided completely without the guidance of a trained aromatherapist Essential oils should never be applied directly to the mucous membranes of the nose either neat or diluted. Use other safer oils in a steam inhalation or 1-2 drops neat on a handkerchief.

VapoRub's active ingredients include camphor, eucalyptus oil and menthol. Inactive ingredients include cedarleaf oil, nutmeg oil, petrolatum, thymol and turpentine oil. The ointment is generally safe when used as directed, but allergies or misuse of VapoRub can cause potentially serious side effects. VapoRub should never be ingested, since the ingredients -- especially camphor -- can be toxic.
Camphor is not considered safe for babies as it can be toxic if ingested or absorbed through the skin. Precautions to take when using camphor around infants include keeping it out of reach, avoiding direct contact with the skin, and ensuring proper ventilation to prevent inhalation of fumes. It is recommended to consult a healthcare professional before using camphor products around infants.
To reduce the smell of camphor, you can try airing out the space by opening windows and using fans to increase ventilation. Additionally, using scented candles, essential oils, or air fresheners can help mask the smell of camphor. Lastly, storing camphor in a sealed container when not in use can help contain its strong odor.
Reaction of camphor with an aromatic amine can be achieved using 10% zinc chloride as a catalyst in a suitable organic solvent under reflux conditions.See "Preparation and reduction of camphor imines" - Bolton, Danks & Paul. Dept of Chem, University of Surrey, 1994.The abstract of the paper does not identify which solvent is used, reflux time or product yield.
