(It was probably meant to be -3 x BLANK= 0)
"-3 x = 0" is not a valid equation. You probably have it mixed up and you forgot to put the coefficient and the variable together:
"-3x = 0"
That basically means "-3 times something equals 0".
So if the variable "x" is equal to 0 then the answer would be zero.
If you are putting this into a calculator (such as an online one or one self-made in VC++/VB, javascript, or anything else) that excepts letters, it will see them as 0 because they don't stand for anything except an invalid symbol.
Such as:
5 + x = 5
5 - f = 5
x squared -2x-3 equals 0 is the same as (x + 1)(x - 3) = 0
6
5x2 + 15x = 0 5x(x + 3) = 0 therefore, x = 0 or x + 3 = 0 that is, x = 0 or x = -3
0
If: x2+2x-3 = 0 Then: x = 1 or x = -3
x squared -2x-3 equals 0 is the same as (x + 1)(x - 3) = 0
6
x = 0
5x2 + 15x = 0 5x(x + 3) = 0 therefore, x = 0 or x + 3 = 0 that is, x = 0 or x = -3
x2-2x-3 = 0 (x+1)(x-3) = 0 x = -1 or x = 3
2x2-x-3 = 0= 4 - x - 3 = 0= 1 - x = 0= 1 = xTherefore x = 1
0
If: x2+2x-3 = 0 Then: x = 1 or x = -3
x = -1 OR x = 3
(x-3)(x+6) = 0 x = 3 or x = -6
x2 - 8x + 15 = 0 can be factored as (x - 3)(x - 5) = 0 : This holds true when one or both of the terms in brackets equals zero. When x - 3 = 0 then x = 3 When x - 5 = 0 then x = 5.
3 (cubed) - 3 x 3 x 3 = 0
