Two different U.S.dimes were struck in 1916, Barber dimes & Mercury dimes. Please post a new question as to the type of coin.
July 2, 2009 A 1916-d Barber Quarter in well worn condition sells for about $3. In average circulated condition it sells for about $7-$8. In better condition with lots of detail showing it will sell for $30-$50. If the coin is in uncirculated condition this coin can be found for about $100-$500
The best you can guess at is if the coin has 3 stars under the eagle on the reverse it was made from 1917-1930, no stars 1916-1917.
If uncut and with the scabbard, between $150.00 and $300.00, all depending on condition.
That's an extremely broad question because Barber quarters (named for their designer, Charles Barber) were struck from 1892 to 1916 at 4 different mints. To evaluate a specific coin you need to know its date, its condition, and what mint mark if any is on the back under the eagle. Please see the related link below for a list of values.
Two types of US quarters were struck in 1916 a Barber quarter and a Standing Liberty quarter. Post new question with type of coin please.
If the date is 1895 it's a Barber quarter, the first year of issue for the Standing Liberty is 1916.
From 1892 through 1916, the United States Mint produced the Barber Quarter. The value of a 1914 Barber Quarter is based on its mint state: For example, if the quarter is graded as good, it value is $6.00; however, if its mint state is in extra fine condition, the value is: $65.00.
In 1916, the Denver Mint did not strike any Standing Liberty quarters, only Barber quarters were struck at Denver. The Standing Liberty quarter was only struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1916.
By far, the most valuable quarter is the 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter Dollar - its value in good condition (G4) is: $3000. places the value of the 1916 Quarter at $3900 in G4 and $35,000 in MS66 (but look fast, it may be higher by the time I finish typing this). The first US quarter from 1796 is listed at $12,000 and $400,000 in those grades.
Assuming this is a Barber quarter with no mintmark the retail values are $6.00 for a well worn coin, $30.00 for medium wear and $70.00 for slight wear.
Standing Liberty quarters were issued from 1916 to 1930. Please post a new question with a date.
Your coin is normally referred to as a "Barber" quarter after its designer, Charles Barber. There's more information at the Related Question link.
Assuming this is a Barber quarter with no mint mark the retail values are $6.00 for a well worn coin, $30.00 for medium wear and $70.00 for slight wear.
You have a Standing Liberty Quarter - a 1929 coin in at least good condition (G4) is worth: $6.00; if this coin's mint state is MS60, the value rises to: $150.00. By the way, the 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter in good condition is worth: $3500!
This is a key date coin, one with very heavy wear has a retail price over $3,000.00 and uncirculated coins start at just under $15,000.00 If you have a 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter I strongly suggest submitting to a professional grading service for authentication and a grade.
Standing Liberty quarters were minted from 1916 to 1930. Please check again and post a new question.
