This is a classic math problem

The question goes something like this:

Two trains are travelling toward each other, one at 10 miles an hour travelling east, the other at 15 miles an hour travelling west, and they are 50 miles apart. A bird is flying at 45 miles an hour, that starts with the eastward train and also heads east, when it reaches the westward headed train it heads back to the other train until it reaches it, then turns around again until it reaches the first train and so on, until the point in time the trains meet. The question then asks, how far does the bird travel before the trains meet?

The Answer:

This is ultimately a trick question. All the different speeds and distances are there to confuse you, it is actually a question about time. You simply first find how long it takes the trains to meet. In this case, where they are 50 miles apart and moving together, their total speed to cover the 50 miles is 25 miles/hour. Thus it takes 50/25=2 hours for the trains to meet. We know the bird is travelling at 45 m/hr this entire time so we calculate 45x2=90 miles travelled during this time period. This is all the question is asking, we do not have to find out how many times the bird goes back and forth or anything else of that nature.

How many miles an hour can a roadrunner bird run?

Bird is flying 120 kmphr between B to R Two trains at B to R at 60 kmph The distance traveled by the bird b4 it is killed?

We understand what you're trying to say, even though you've thoroughly botched it,because we've heard it before.Unless we're mistaken, the trains are steaming toward each other on the same track, each steaming at a rate of 60 kph, and at the instant the trains are 60 km apart, thebird leaves the nose of one, flies directly to the other at a rate of 120 kph, then turnsaround and returns to the first, and continues back and forth across the ever-dwindlingdivide until it is crushed in the head-on collision, and the question is how far it flies in total.Watch closely. Nothing up our sleeve. Each train steams at 60 kph, so the distance between them closes at the rate of 120 kph. They are 60 km apart when our saga begins, so the crash occurs after (60/120) = 1/2 hour. The bird flies at 120 kph, so logs 60 km in the 1/2 hour before it expires in the fiery collision. There's an amusing story about this problem. Two highly eminent mathemamaticians were talking and one mentioned this question, The other replied promptly with the correct answer. "Very impressive" joked the first. "Most people would have worked out how far the bird travelled on each leg and then summed the series, which of course is not the quickest way to do it." The other said, "But that's what I did!".

What is the momentum of a 7.0 kilogram bird flying at a velocity of 2.5 miles per second?

17.5 kg*miles per second

How much time does it take for a flying bird at a speed of 45 miles per hour to travel a distance of 1800 miles?

Number of hours would be 45 Miles/hr 1800 Miles 1800 Miles * 45 Miles / hour = 40 hours
