If you remember the order the suffixes are in, you can just move the decimal accordingly.

In this instatnce, meter is the standard, just like litre would be in volume.

if you have 3.6 metre's and you move the decimal two to the right to get centimetre's you find that 3.6 metre's are equal to 360 centimetre's making 3.6 metre's greater by far than 36 centimetre's
