351 isn't a big block. As for an answer to your question, depends on which inline six... tractor-trailer engines are inline six engines... If you're comparing the 300 Ford I6 to the Ford 351, the 351 has more power, hands down.

Only Ford wold know for sure but the name 500 was used by Ford in the 50s & 60s on the Fairlane 500 and Galaxy 500. I guess Ford just decided to use it on the car that replaced the Taurus.

There are not two catalytic converters. Working towards the muffler from the flange, you have a RESONATOR, a CATALYTIC CONVERTER and finally a MUFFLER.
Same thing as any other redline, if you go past it the engine isn't going to be very happy. Basically, you engine will throw itself apart when it reaches a certain RPM. The redline denotes the end of the safe operating range.
