First let me point out the difference between similarity and congruence. Let me consider 2 identical circles that have been drawn on 2 separate tracing papers, now imagine that i overlap the 2 tracing papers. Will you now only see one? Yes! Hence we can say they are congruent.

But if i consider 2 different circles, on the tracing paper, it won't turn out so well. But we would notice that they would be IDENTICAL if we resize one of them (assuming they are in the same orientation).

That is the most simplest way i can explain the difference and in that way, hopefully what it means to be similar.

-----------------------------------------------

NOW moving back to the question... imagine 2 different circles, even though they are different, we will still observe that the are identical if, again we resize one of them. Hence all circle are similar no matter how big or small. Because, when it comes to comparing shapes based on similarity, size doesn't matter.

Circles and all regular polygons.

Are all circles similar?

Yes, all circles are similer, they all have 1 line, all the same shape, any quarter of a circle will always be 25%, but it the line is bigger they still have differances and similarities, e.g a circle can have a radius of 25cm while another can have a radius of 93984389569349billion miles

Are circles sometimes never or always similar?

Circles are congruent when they have the same radius and they are similar when their radii are different in lengths.

What are the axioms of similarity?

Similarity isreflexive: x is similar to xsymmetric: if x is similar to y then y is similar to x.transitive: if x is similar to y and y is similar to z then x is similar to z.

Is it true that circle are congruent?

All circles are similar, they all are the same shape, regardless of size. Only if they have equal diameters, would they be congruent.

Do circles with equal parameters are congruent?

Yes, circles with equal parameters, specifically equal radii, are congruent. This means that if two circles have the same radius, they can be perfectly overlapped without any gaps or overlaps. Congruence in circles is determined solely by their radii, as all circles are similar in shape. Therefore, equal parameters imply congruence.
