What is weight what is Mass?

Mass is the measure of the quantity of material contained within an object. Weight is a measure of the gravitational pull on an object. Weight will vary depending on how strong the gravitational pull is while mass remains the same.

Is a milliliter the same as a milligram?

No, mg is a measure of weight/mass, while ml is a measure of volume.

Are weight and mass the same measurement?

No, weight and mass are not the same measurement. Mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object and is constant regardless of location. Weight, however, is a measure of the force of gravity acting on an object and can vary depending on the strength of gravity.

Why are different tools used ro measure mass and weight?

Mass is a fundamental property of matter and is measured in kilograms using tools like balances and scales. Weight, on the other hand, is the force of gravity acting on an object's mass and is measured in newtons using tools like spring scales. The distinction is important as an object's mass remains constant regardless of its location, while its weight can vary depending on the strength of gravity.

Is an objects mass a measure of the force of gravity acting on the object?

No, mass is a measure of how much matter there is. Weight is the measure of force of gravity acting on that mass. A rock has the same mass whether it's on Earth or the Moon or Jupiter, or floating out in space. The weight for each of these situations will be quite different.

What is a thing that weighs 2kgs when dry?

A kilogram is a measure of mass, not of weight. They are not the same thing!

What 2 ways are weight and mass different?

Weight is a measure of the force of gravity acting on an object, while mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object. Weight varies with location due to differences in gravitational pull, whereas mass remains constant regardless of location.

Is weight how heavy an object is?

Weight is actually a measure of the force of gravity acting on an object's mass. It is the measure of how much gravity pulls on an object. The weight of an object can change depending on its location in the universe, while its mass will remain the same.

Why is your weight on earth different from out mass on the moon?

Your weight on Earth is the force of gravity pulling you towards the center of the Earth, while your mass remains constant regardless of location. On the moon, the gravitational pull is weaker than on Earth, so your weight would be less due to the reduced force of gravity, but your mass would stay the same.

Is the mass of body the same thing as the weight?

No, mass and weight are not the same thing. Mass is a measurement of the amount of matter in an object, and it remains constant regardless of the location. Weight, on the other hand, is a measure of the gravitational force acting on an object, so it can vary depending on the strength of gravity.

Does a brick weigh the same on earth as it does in space?

Yes, the weight of an object is dependent on its mass and the force of gravity acting upon it. Therefore, a brick would weigh the same on Earth as it does in space, assuming the gravitational force is the same.

Are weight and density the same?

No, weight and density are not the same. They are two different physical properties of substances. Weight is a measure of the force exerted on an object due to gravity, while density is a measure of mass per unit volume.
