at -40 degree both F an C are equal. You get this by :

let the temperature be x numerically, when we use the formula we get:

= F=(9/5)C +32

= x=(9/5)x +32 because F=C

= -32 + 9/5x-x

= -32 = 4x/5

= -160/4 = x

= -40 .
