So we can reproduce.
That is un known.
While there is no singular definition for what makes organisms alive, there is a set of criteria by which most people follow. Being alive consists of the ability to reproduce asexually are sexually, the ability to grow, the ability to maintain homeostasis, metabolism, the ability to adapt in response to environment, and response to any stimuli.

Lets say there are 20 prokaryotes and they don't reproduce. They would die one by one until you had no prokaryotes. If they had reproduced, you would have more than 20 prokaryotes. So what I'm trying to say is that prokaryotes reproduce to keep their race alive. If humans didnt reproduce, in a while there would be no humans at all. It's the same with prokaryotes. Hope this helped.
they reproduce by to be specific Binary Fussion
yes all prokaryotes reproduce by binary fission
the way prokaryotes reproduce
Prokaryotes rely more on mutations for generating genetic variations because they reproduce asexually, so mutations are a primary source of genetic diversity. Eukaryotes reproduce sexually, which introduces genetic variations through meiosis and recombination, reducing the reliance on mutations for generating diversity.
Binary fission enables them to reproduce quickly.
Binary fission -Biology student
Yes, mutation rates are generally higher in prokaryotes that reproduce by binary fission due to their rapid reproduction cycles and lack of error-checking mechanisms during DNA replication. This results in a higher likelihood of mutations occurring and being passed on to offspring.
